  1. Castle of the Winds release point:

  3. The top directory contains the latest code. This may or may not be stable,
  4. since it's my current development exe. It also has CodeView symbols in it,
  5. so it's a few hundred K bigger.
  6. The release directories below contain pseudo-official releases. These 
  7. should be pretty stable. Anything before 0.5 won't run on Win 3, and 
  8. anything 0.5 or greater won't run on Win 2.

  10. In the top directory:
  11. Castle.exe    : Debug Build, Asserts, Codeview symbols
  12. Castle.hlp    : Winhelp help file
  13. interm.txt    : Changes since last major build.
  14. Castlemm.dll    : Multi-media support for castle (only used if a soundblaster
  15.             card and the MM extensions to Windows are present).
  16.  
  17. In the release directory:
  18. Castle.exe    : Debug Build, Asserts but no Codeview symbols
  19. Castle.hlp    : Winhelp help file
  20. Castlecv.exe    : Debug Build, including Codeview symbols (big)
  21. Castler.exe    : Full Retail Build: No Asserts, No symbols.
  22. Castle05.txt    : release notes from release 0.5

  24. In general, I'd prefer if people ran Castle.exe , so they can report 
  25. asserts. It's only about 40K bigger and not much slower. Castlecv.exe
  26. is basically for debugging only.
